Angiography

Gold standard for vascular studies

Conventional angiography necessitates placement of a small tube (catheter) into the blood vessel and introduction of dye (contrast agent) to outline the vessel.

Similar to fluoroscopy, pulsed X-ray will be emitted which enables capturing of live video of the vessels.

The clinical application of angiography technology goes beyond diagnostic purposes as various diseases are now treatable with intravascularly introduced medications. These procedures are carried out by an interventional radiologist.
