X-ray becomes 'live'

Similar to general radiography, fluoroscopy uses an X-ray to penetrate the human body and obtain 2-dimensional images. Unlikely general radiography system which acquires static images, fluoroscopy pulses the X-ray source in rapid successions resulting in a series of moving X-ray images (cine).

Fluoroscopy allows more precise studies which involve movements, e.g. movement of the intestines, swallowing mechanism and passage of fluid within hollowed structures of the body.
